Vi, for real.

Real things Vi did for me in her first six weeks.

Tyler, founder of HeyVi

Vi watched my girlfriend’s flight so I didn’t have to

My girlfriend was flying in, and I asked Vi to make sure I’d be there on time. Her flight couldn’t make up its mind that day: late, then catching up, then late again.

Every time the landing time moved, Vi moved my leave time and my reminder with it. Four times. She planned the drive around the traffic for when I’d actually be on the road, not for right then. I left when she said to, and I was there for her.

Vi does my internship applications and I just say “send”

I’m supposed to send one internship application a day. Now Vi finds the role, fills out the whole thing, writes the short answers in my voice, and emails me a copy to look over.

I reply “send,” or type a change right into the email, like “remove the club roles.” She makes it, submits, and sends me a screenshot of the confirmation. Eleven in two days. For the startups she even wrote a real “why this company” line tied to things I’ve actually built.

I said “yeah” and Vi got me into a launch party

My girlfriend found a startup’s launch party and texted Vi about it. Vi checked my calendar, saw I was free, and asked if I wanted to go. I said “yeah.”

She did the rest: the RSVP, the host’s screening questions, and a fresh verification code when the first one expired before I could pass it along. She told me which answers she’d guessed on. The next morning I was approved, the address was on my calendar, and because I asked, she let my girlfriend know we were going.

Vi did my errands while I was in exams

I was stuck in exams and needed a cleanser and a moisturizer, so I asked Vi for something “for oily skin, good deal.” She compared the price per ounce across sizes, ordered the best value, and skipped the subscription and membership upsells.

There was also a phone sitting in my cart. She’d already taken it out before I texted “do not get the phone.” That night I said my smog check had to happen that weekend, and she found a certified station near home and put a Saturday walk-in on my calendar.

Vi didn’t believe me when my phone died

My phone died after a hackathon, so I texted Vi from my girlfriend’s: “This is Tyler. My phone is dead. Can you text my dad… I’m omw home.” She didn’t, not right away. A text from someone else’s phone saying it’s me is exactly how scams work, so she asked me to confirm it was really me.

Once I did, she texted my dad that I was on my way, and told him we’d placed fourth. Now there’s a rule: when my girlfriend or my dad passes something along from me, she just does it and texts me what she did.

Let Vi handle it.
